small change is all it takes
Yeah you bet small change is all it takes to make incredibly big change.
But what has this got to do with The Hug Project AND how is getting together to break the Guinness Record for the world’s biggest hug going to raise money for those less fortunate than ourselves anyway?
Simple!
option one: sponsorship
Ask your family, friends & neighbours to sponsor you 1c for every person in your school or club who registers to hug. So if there’s 100 people at your school and they all come along that would add up to $1. If you asked ten people to sponsor you it would add up to $10. WOW! And then if everyone at your school did the same thing 100 x $10 equals a massive $1,000 - which is an extraordinary fundraising effort by your entire community. Imagine if over 10,000 people participate and each person managed to get 10 people to sponsor them for 1c per hugger in their community group of 100 people....10,000 x $10 = a staggering $100,000!!!!
Isn’t that crazy how far 1cent can go?! Imagine how many lives will be touched and transformed by such a small gesture.

option two: collection
Alternatively you could form teams and collect as much small change as you can find –everyone can find 5c lying around somewhere and every little bit helps. Check the back of the couch or the washing machine – they’re great places to find spare change! Or even on the ground...5cents by itself won’t go far, but lots of small change will.
Ask everyone you know to ask everyone they know to collect their 5c pieces and tell them we’re changing the world! At the very least, if everyone who took part raised just $1 and we managed to break the Guinness World Record then that would be over $10,000!
It’s up to US – ALL OF US.
